Women's ski jumping set to join Olympic programme
Apr 4, 2011, 15:11 GMT
London - Women's ski jumping is set to win its place on the Olympic programme at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia after a five-year wait.
Women's jumping is among six new events being considered by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) executive board for Sochi, the German Press Agency dpa learned Monday.
Women's jumping had lost a legal battle to be on the programme at the 2010 Games in Vancouver. It has so far been refused a place in the past because the IOC felt there was not enough depth in the sport and the event was not competitive enough.
The IOC executive board begins a two-day meeting in London on Tuesday.
