Green party chief quits Munich 2018 board of trustees
Nov 21, 2010, 14:57 GMT
Berlin - German Green Party leader Claudia Roth quit her place on the board of trustees of Munich's 2018 Winter Olympics bid on Sunday.
Roth's move came after a party congress voted against Green support of Munich's bid the previous day. Roth and other party leaders had asked party members to back the bid.
Bid officials said they don't fear any negative impacts of the move. Munich is bidding for the 2018 Games along with Pyeongchang of South Korea and the French resort of Annecy. The host city is elected by the International Olympic Committee on July 6, 2011.
