Romanian slider hospitalized after luge crash

Whistler, Canada - Violeta Stramaturaru was hospitalized on Thursday after crashing in practice for the Olympic luge competition.
Stramaturaru, 21, was feared to have suffered a concussion which would likely rule her out for the competition set for Monday and Tuesday.
Crashes are not uncommon on the superfast Whistler Sliding Centre track, and have involved some of the top athletes in the past as well.
