Feb 4, 2010, 15:52 GMT
Oslo - Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit has been forced to cancel her plans to attend the Vancouver Games over neck pain, the palace said Thursday.
The crown princess suffers from wear in the vertebrae in the neck and her doctor has recommended her to remain still for three weeks resulting in cancellations of events in her schedule, a palace spokeswoman told news agency NTB.
It was not known if Crown Prince Haakon would change his earlier plans to attend the Vancouver Games that open February 12 to cheer on the likes of biathlon stars Ole Einar Bjoerndalen and Marit Bjoergen, cross-country skier Petter Northug and other Norwegian hopefuls.
