Oilers invite Carter to camp

Edmonton, Alberta - The Edmonton Oilers have invited forward Anson Carter to training camp for a try-out for the upcoming season, the club announced Sunday.
Carter, 33, split the 2006-07 season between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Carolina Hurricanes, scoring 11 goals and notching 17 assists. The Toronto, Ontario native has career totals of 202 goals and 219 assists during his 10- season NHL career.
Carter began his NHL career with the Washington Capitals in 1996-97 and has played for eight different teams over his career, including the Oilers. Carter played three seasons with Edmonton, scoring 69 goals with 88 assists in 211 games between 2000-01 and 2002-03.
