Sep 12, 2007, 2:06 GMT
Vancouver, BC - The Vancouver Canucks announced that defenseman Aaron Miller will have abdominal surgery on Tuesday.
He is expected to make a full recovery in two weeks and will re-join the team before the preseason ends.
'After further consultation with our medical team it was decided that surgery was the best course of action for Aaron,' said Vancouver general manager Dave Nonis.
The 36-year-old Miller was signed by the Canucks as a free agent in July.
He played in 82 games last season for the Los Angeles Kings and recorded eight points with 60 penalty minutes.
The 11-year NHL veteran has a career total of 110 points, with 24 goals and 86 assists, through 620 games played.
