Kings retain Cammalleri for two more years

Los Angeles, CA - The Los Angeles Kings avoided a potentially messy arbitration hearing and re-signed center Mike Cammalleri to a two-year deal on Monday. Terms of the new deal were not released, per club policy.The 25-year-old Cammalleri is coming off a superb season in which he set career-highs in goals (34), assists (46), points (80) and games played (81). That came on the heels of a solid 2005-06 campaign in which he led the team in goals, was fifth in assists and fourth in points while skating in 80 contests.A fifth-year pro out of the University of Michigan, the young forward has posted 74 goals and 158 points in 220 career games all with the Kings.© 2007 The Sports Network
