Pittsburgh, PA - The Pittsburgh Penguins re-signed forward Colby Armstrong to a two-year contract Thursday.
The 24-year-old Armstrong had 12 goals and 22 assists last season for the Penguins in 80 games.
'Colby is another young guy who plays with passion, gives us versatility up front and brings an added physical dimension to our team,' said Pittsburgh executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. 'We are confident he'll continue to grow as a player and benefit from experiences like having played for Team Canada at the World Championships.'
In 127 career games with Pittsburgh, the Lloydminster, Saskatchewan native has registered 28 goals and 46 assists.
Armstrong was originally selected 21st overall by the Pens in 2001 Entry Draft.
