Raleigh, NC - On a night when Sidney Crosby broke Wayne Gretzky's record as the youngest player in NHL history to reach 200 points, it was Scott Walker stealing the show, netting two goals -- including the game- winner in the third period -- to lead the Carolina Hurricanes past the Pittsburgh Penguins, 3-2. Frantisek Kaberle also scored while Cam Ward stopped 22 shots to pick up his first win since February 17th for the Hurricanes, who put the brakes on a two- game skid. Ryan Malone scored and Jocelyn Thibault ended with 23 saves for the Penguins, who have dropped four of their last six contests.

East Rutherford, NJ - Jeff O'Neill scored in the fifth round of a shootout to give Toronto a 4-3 victory over New Jersey in a game marred by an injury to Maple Leafs veteran defenseman Tomas Kaberle. Carlo Colaiacovo, Nik Antropov and Matt Stajan scored less than three minutes apart in the third period for the Maple Leafs, who snapped a two-game skid. Andrew Raycroft made 22 saves for Toronto and stopped Sergei Brylin's chance to end the shootout. Jamie Langenbrunner, Jay Pandolfo and Brylin scored for New Jersey, which had its two-game win streak broken. Martin Brodeur made 25 saves for the Devils, but couldn't come up big in the shootout.

Atlanta, GA - Eric Belanger tallied twice, and the Atlanta Thrashers used a three-goal third period to defeat the Ottawa Senators, 4-2, at Philips Arena. Slav Kozlov and Pascal Dupuis also scored, and Marian Hossa had two assists for Atlanta, which has split its last four games but is just 4-7-2 since January. Kari Lehtonen made 21 saves for the Thrashers, who snapped a five- game losing streak on their home ice. Dany Heatley scored two power-play goals and Wade Redden had a pair of helpers for the Senators, who had their three-game winning streak snapped and lost for the first time in regulation in their last 10 games (8-1-1). Ray Emery had 20 saves for Ottawa, which still owns the NHL's best record since February 7.

Detroit, MI - Robert Lang had a goal and three assists, and Nicklas Lidstrom notched his 200th career goal and two assists, as the Detroit Red Wings routed the Chicago Blackhawks, 6-2. Pavel Datsyuk had three assists for the Red Wings, who had lost two in a row before sweeping this home-and-home with Chicago. Detroit topped the Blackhawks, 4-1, in Chicago on Tuesday. Chris Osgood stopped 17 shots for Detroit. Former Red Wing Jason Williams scored both Chicago goals, and Patrick Lalime was pulled after allowing four scores on 18 shots. Nikolai Khabibulin let up two scores on 19 shots in relief for the Blackhawks, who have dropped three straight and eight of nine.

Buffalo, NY - Michael Ryan recorded his first two NHL goals and Derek Roy posted a goal and a career-high three assists as the Buffalo Sabres outlasted the Montreal Canadiens, 8-5. Thomas Vanek also scored twice and Teppo Numminen had a goal and two assists for the Sabres, who have won eight of their last 10 games. Tomas Plekanec registered two goals and an assist while David Aebischer gave up seven goals on just 29 shots for the Canadiens, who have lost three of their last four contests and dropped out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Dallas, TX - Jason Chimera scored the lone tally in the shootout, leading the Columbus Blue Jackets over the Dallas Stars, 3-2, at American Airlines Center. Chimera broke in toward the net, faked the shot and then ripped a wrister from left to right past a diving Marty Turco. Fredrik Norrena stood tall at the other end, making a pad save on Sergei Zubov before Mike Modano missed the net on the Stars' next chance. Jussi Jokinen, who needed a goal to send the shootout to the next round, went wide before trying to drag the puck around Norrena, who poked it away for the win. Manny Malhotra and Sergei Fedorov scored in regulation for Columbus, which snapped a two-game skid and won for just the second time in its last seven games. Norrena finished with 22 saves. Darryl Sydor had a goal and an assist and Modano also tallied for Dallas, which has lost two straight. Turco also made 22 saves between the pipes for Dallas, which was playing in its fourth straight overtime game.

Anaheim, CA - Dustin Penner, Chris Kunitz and Chris Pronger each scored and Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 30 saves as the Anaheim Ducks downed the reeling San Jose Sharks, 3-1. Andy McDonald finished with two assists for the Ducks, who won for the third time in their last four games. Craig Rivet, making his San Jose debut, scored the lone goal while Evgeni Nabokov ended with 22 saves for the Sharks, who have dropped four straight.
