Titans' Haynesworth fined $5,000

Nashville, TN - Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was fined $5,000 Friday for a hard tackle of Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew last Sunday.In the Titans' 13-10 win in Jacksonville, Haynesworth slammed Jones-Drew on his head and was assessed a 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness.This is not the first time the fiery tackle has drawn the ire of the league.Haynesworth was handed a five-game suspension by the NFL last season for stepping on the head of Cowboys center Andre Gurode in the Titans' 45-14 loss to Dallas last October 1.After Cowboys running back Julius Jones scored on a five-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, Haynesworth stomped on Gurode, who had lost his helmet. Gurode needed multiple stitches to close the wound, and Haynesworth was required to undergo anger management sessions as a condition of his reinstatement.© 2007 The Sports Network
