Patriots re-sign LB Brown

Foxboro, MA - The New England Patriots re-signed linebacker Chad Brown on Wednesday. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.Brown, entering his 15th NFL season, was signed by the club in the off-season and was a member of the Pats during training camp, but was released September 1. This will be his second stint with the Patriots. In 2005, the veteran recorded 54 tackles in 15 games with New England.Brown appeared in eight games last year for the Pittsburgh Steelers, registering seven tackles and a sack. The 36-year-old Brown, a three-time Pro Bowl player, has started 161 of 186 career games and has recorded 1,075 total tackles, 79 sacks and six interceptions.The Patriots also signed cornerback Gemara Williams and offensive lineman Dan Connolly to the practice squad, and released rookie linebacker David Herron.© 2007 The Sports Network
