Redskins' Jansen suffers dislocated ankle
Sep 9, 2007, 18:25 GMT
Landover, MD - Washington Redskins offensive tackle Jon Jansen suffered a dislocated right ankle during Sunday's season-opener against the Miami Dolphins.
Jansen was hurt in the second quarter when Miami's Zach Thomas rolled up the back of the veteran's legs while sacking quarterback Jason Campbell. Jansen had his back to the play, and was carted off the field.
The 31-year-old Michigan product has played his entire career with Washington since being selected in the second round of the 1999 NFL Draft. He signed a five- year contract extension through the 2011 season in February.
Last year, Jansen started in 15 games while helping an offensive line that paved the way for the NFL's fourth-best rushing attack. The Redskins also allowed just 19 sacks.
