Vikings' Taylor leaves with hip injury
Sep 9, 2007, 18:17 GMT
Minneapolis, MN - Minnesota Vikings running back Chester Taylor left the team's 24-3 win over Atlanta late in the first quarter with an apparent hip injury.
On a first-and-15 play from the Falcons 45, Taylor became tangled up with right guard Artis Hicks on a screen pass and tumbled to the turf. Taylor managed to leave the field under his own power but later walked gingerly to the locker room and did not return.
Taylor, who rushed for 1,216 yards and six touchdowns in 2006, started the game and ran for 18 yards on three carries before leaving. His replacement, rookie Adrian Peterson, ran for 103 yards on 19 carries and added a 60-yard touchdown reception in his NFL debut.
