Houston, TX - Matt Schaub completed 12-of-16 passes for 109 yards and a touchdown as the Houston Texans defeated the Dallas Cowboys, 28-16, in preseason action.
Jacoby Jones returned a punt 91 yards in the first quarter for a touchdown and Andre Johnson caught four passes for 39 yards and a touchdown for the Texans, who improved to 2-1 in the preseason.
Running back Ahman Green, acquired in the offseason along with Schaub, broke off a 46-yard run and finished with 65 yards on eight carries.
Tony Romo completed 14-of-22 passes for 197 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for the Cowboys, who were dealt their first loss of the preseason. Romo hooked up with wide receiver Terrell Owens for a 35-yard touchdown.
The game marked the return to Houston of Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips, who began his professional coaching career as an assistant with the Oilers in 1976. Phillips' father, Bum, was head coach of the Houston Oilers from 1975 through 1980.
