Moss sits with apparent leg injury

Foxboro, MA - The New England Patriots practiced Thursday without their star offseason acquisition, wideout Randy Moss, who was sidelined with an apparent leg injury.
Moss sustained the injury on Wednesday, when on a flea-flicker in practice, he lunged awkwardly for a deep pass from quarterback Tom Brady, and came up clutching his left hamstring. He left practice immediately, and had the apparent hamstring injury wrapped in ice.
Patriots coach Bill Belichick did not elaborate on Moss' injury during a press conference after the team's morning practice Thursday, other than to say that Moss was day to day.
The Patriots acquired the enigmatic receiver in a draft-day deal with the Oakland Raiders, relinquishing only a fourth-round pick in exchange for Moss.
Moss was the second-leading receiver for the Raiders last season with 42 catches for only 553 yards with three touchdowns. It was the worst statistical season of his career. He spent just two years with the Raiders after playing his first seven seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.
In nine NFL seasons, Moss has 676 receptions for 10,700 yards with 101 touchdowns. His 101 receiving touchdowns rank fifth on the all-time list.
Moss, 30, is one of just seven players in NFL history with more than 100 receiving touchdowns and is the only player in league annals to record 1,000 or more receiving yards in each of his first six NFL seasons.
