Tiki joins NBC; Morton released
Feb 14, 2007, 1:05 GMT
New York, NY - Tiki Barber, who retired this past season after 10 years as a running back with the New York Giants, was named a correspondent for NBC News' 'Today' and an analyst for the network's 'Football Night in America.'
Barber, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, holds the Giants all-time mark with 10,449 career rushing yards. His 586 receptions and 15,632 yards from scrimmage also are Giants career bests.
'I am thrilled to be joining the NBC Universal family,' Barber said. 'This was a long and arduous decision process for me, but in the end NBC is where I felt I belonged. The opportunity to work for both a world-class news division and a world-class sports division is truly second to none.'
This is actually a resumption of Barber's broadcasting career. He also served as a correspondent on Fox News Channel's morning show 'Fox & Friends' and hosted a show on Sirius Satellite Radio, which covered politics, news, sports and entertainment. Barber and his twin brother, Ronde, currently host a weekly football show on Sirius.
Barber officially filed his retirement papers with the NFL Tuesday and the Giants placed him on the reserve/retired list.
The Giants also announced the release of return specialist Chad Morton. He served as the primary punt returner for the team the last two seasons and averaged 21.6 yards on kickoff returns in 2006.

I will never watch NBC again because of the traitor to his fans, teamates and to himself. He also is a traitor to his coach.
