Romo, Harris, Burleson capture NFC monthly awards

New York, NY - Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, San Francisco 49ers cornerback Walt Harris and Seattle Seahawks punt and kick returner Nate Burleson were named the NFC's top players for the month of November.
Romo led the NFL in passer rating (124.7 percent), completion percentage (72.6), and touchdown passes (nine) for the month. He was second in yards with 1,124.
The fourth-year player completed 85-of-117 passes (72.6 percent) for 1,124 yards in his first full month as a starting quarterback, guiding Dallas to a 3-1 record. He threw for nine touchdowns and one interception, good for an NFL-best 124.7 passer rating.
In addition, Romo garnered two NFC Offensive Player of the Week Awards. The first was for his performance November 12 in a win at Arizona. The signal- caller completed 20-of-29 passes (69 percent), amassing a career-high 308 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. On Thanksgiving, he tied a franchise record with five touchdown passes during a 38-10 win against Tampa Bay.
Harris racked up 19 tackles, three interceptions, five passes defensed and also forced a fumble, garnering his first Player of the Month award. He finished the month tied for the NFL lead with a career-best six interceptions.
Burleson picked up the special teams award with 14 punt returns for 193 yards and a conference-best 13.8-yard return average. He had a 90-yard touchdown against St. Louis on November 12 and five kick returns for 129 yards against Green Bay on November 27.
The fourth-year player had a 25.8-yard return average during the month, leading Seattle to a 3-1 finish, vaulting the team into first place in the NFC West.
