Sixers' Dalembert suffers stress fracture

Philadelphia, PA - The Philadelphia 76ers announced on Friday that center Samuel Dalembert recently suffered a stress fracture in his left foot.The injury was discovered during a recent MRI and Dalembert will be in a protective boot and then a hard cast for the next three weeks.'We will closely monitor Sam's status over the next three weeks, but we anticipate that he will be ready to return to the court in time for the start of training camp,' said Sixers president Billy King.The Sixers did not announce how or when Dalembert originally sustained the injury, though he recently played for Team Canada at the FIBA Americas tournament.Last season, Dalembert started all 82 games for Philadelphia and averaged 10.7 points and 8.9 rebounds per contest.© 2007 The Sports Network
