Clippers sign Powell

Los Angeles, CA - The Los Angeles Clippers signed free-agent forward Josh Powell Tuesday.Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.The 6-foot-9, 235-pound Powell averaged 3.1 points and 2.4 rebounds last season while playing in 37 games for the Indiana Pacers and Golden State Warriors. Powell, 23, averaged 3.0 points and 2.2 rebounds in 37 games for the Dallas Mavericks in the 2005-06 season as a rookie.Powell, who went undrafted following two years at North Carolina State, also spent time in Russia and had three stints with Fort Worth in the D-League.© 2007 The Sports Network
