Oakland, CA - The Golden State Warriors reached an agreement to buy out the contract of center Adonal Foyle on Monday.
Golden State requested waivers on Foyle, who had spent his entire 10-year career with Golden State after the Warriors made him the eight overall selection in the 1997 draft.
'We will certainly miss Adonal's presence, both on and off the court,' said Golden State vice president of basketball operations Chris Mullin. 'However, we think this move is in the best interest of both parties as we move forward. Adonal was a true professional in every sense of the word during his decade- long tenure with the Warriors. We wish him the best as he begins the next phase of his career.'
The 32-year-old Foyle appeared in just 48 games for Golden State this past season, averaging 2.2 points and 2.6 rebounds. For his career with the Warriors, Foyle averaged 4.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.78 blocks in 641 games.
The Colgate product leaves the Warriors as the club's all-time leader in blocked shots (1,140).
