Pistons sign second round pick Mejia

Auburn Hills, MI - The Detroit Pistons they have signed Sammy Mejia, a second round draft pick, to an undisclosed contract on Tuesday.Mejia, a 6'6' swingman who spent four years at DePaul University, was taken by Detroit with the 57th overall pick in the June draft. In 123 career games with the Blue Demons, he averaged 12.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game and ended his career ninth on the school's all-time scoring list.The Bronx, N.Y., native projects as a combo guard who can also play small forward in the NBA.© 2007 The Sports Network
