Pistons sign McDyess to extension

Auburn Hills, MI - The Detroit Pistons signed forward Antonio McDyess to a contract extension Monday. Per team policy, financial terms were not disclosed.The 32-year old McDyess appeared in 82 games last season and averaged 8.1 points and six rebounds per game. He paced the Pistons bench in both scoring and rebounding and finished fourth in the voting for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award.'I'm excited to have worked out a contract extension with the Pistons,' McDyess said. 'We have enjoyed a lot of success as a team since I came to Detroit three years ago and I look forward to the upcoming season and making another run at an NBA Championship.'The 6-foot-9 McDyess has career averages of 13.9 points and 7.6 rebounds in 725 career games with Denver, Phoenix, New York and Detroit.© 2007 The Sports Network
