Kings sign first round pick

Sacramento, CA - The Sacramento Kings signed rookie center Spencer Hawes, the team's first round selection in the 2007 NBA Draft. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.The 19-year old Hawes was the 10th overall selection in the draft after his freshman season at Washington, where he earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors.Hawes led the Huskies in scoring and ranked second in rebounding, averaging 14.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game last season.© 2007 The Sports Network
