Washington, DC - The Washington Wizards signed a pair of first round draft picks on Thursday.
The team inked its 2007 first round selection, swingman Nick Young, and its 2006 first round choice, big man Oleksiy Pecherov. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Young, 22, was drafted 16th overall by the Wizards in the 2007 NBA Draft after averaging 17.5 points per game at the University of Southern California last year.
Pecherov, 21, was drafted 18th overall by the Wizards in the 2006 draft. The 7-footer played for BY Kyiv in his native Ukraine last season.
'We are excited to have two very talented first round picks join our team,' Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld said. 'Nick Young and Oleksiy Pecherov both have good size, athleticism and the ability to score. They are hard working and competitive young players.'
