Jul 5, 2007, 16:25 GMT
Miami, FL - The Miami Heat signed rookie guard Daequan Cook on Thursday. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Cook was the 21st selection in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers, who immediately shipped his rights to the Heat along with a 2009 second-round pick and cash considerations for the draft rights to Jason Smith, who Miami selected with the 20th overall pick.
Cook played just one season at Ohio State before entering the draft pool. He was voted the Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year after averaging 9.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game last season.
