Blazers get Fernandez from Suns

New York, NY - The Portland Trail Blazers were certainly in a dealing mood on Thursday, acquiring the draft rights to Spanish guard Rudy Fernandez from Phoenix for cash considerations.
Fernandez averaged 16.1 points in the 2006-07 season playing with Badalona in the ACB.
Earlier Thursday, the Blazers sent forward Zach Randolph, guards Fred Jones and Dan Dickau to the New York Knicks for guard Steve Francis and forward Channing Frye to Portland. In addition, the Knicks obtained the draft rights to Demetris Nichols from Portland for a 2008 second round draft pick.
Portland also acquired the draft rights of Finnish guard Petteri Koponen, chosen 30th overall, from Philadelphia for the rights to No. 42 pick Vanderbilt guard/forward Derrick Byars and cash considerations.
