Sounds like a ridiculous argument to me. If the MVP goes to the best player during the regular season (as is currently the case), then by all means give it to this man. Why are people talking about his playoff performance? The MVP award goes to the 'best' guy during the regular season, right? Case closed.
Dirk's MVP honor is laughable. He in no way, shape, or form deserves the MVP. When will the NBA stop shoving international players (Nash, Dirk, Kirelenko, etc.) done our American throats. Nash didn't deserve it for the past two years, Dirk was even close. These guys are even the best players on their respective teams. When does the NFL season start?
When the league MVP goes out in the first round, it more than proves that he did not deserve the MVP. Regardless if the MVP is for the regular season, the fact is that Dirk could not lead his team past the first round, and this is the most valuable player. The league needs to re-think the voting on the MVP. There should be an MVP, and the leagues best player, that would be much better. In that case Kobe would of won the leagues best player, and Nash would of won the MVP, sorry Dirk, no award for early playoff exit.
