Wilt Chamberlain was a member of the Philadelphia Warriors, not the Lakers, when he hit for seven straight games of more than 50 points. He went on to set scoring records that may never be broken, including 100 points in a single game. When he was traded to the Los Angeles (not Minneapolis) Lakers, his teammates, being some of the finest basketball players ever (Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, et. al.), took the scoring pressure off Wilt, and his numbers never approached his early years with Philadelphia. Nevertheless, Wilt was one of the most dominant players ever to don a basketball uniform, along with Michael Jordan and Bill Russell, and he gave his fans many, many wonderful basketball memories.
