New York, NY - Los Angeles Lakers All-Star guard Kobe Bryant was suspended one game on Wednesday by the NBA for striking Minnesota Timberwolves guard Marko Jaric in the face during Tuesday's double-overtime loss.
The incident occurred in the final minute of the fourth quarter at the Target Center. Bryant finished with 40 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists in the loss.
The Lakers will play the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday at the Bradley Center without the service of Bryant.
Bryant was suspended for one game earlier this season for hitting San Antonio guard Manu Ginobili in the face during the Lakers' 96-94 overtime loss to the Spurs on January 28 at the Staples Center. He sat out the next contest against the New York Knicks.
In 57 games this season, Bryant is averaging a team-best 29.2 points with 5.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists.
