Blazers waive former lottery pick

Portland, OR - The Portland Trail Blazers have waived forward Nikoloz Tskitishvili, the team announced on Thursday.The 23-year-old Tskitishvili, a former first-round draft choice (fifth overall) of the Denver Nuggets in the 2002 NBA Draft, has played in 172 NBA games and averaged 2.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.7 assists.The seven-footer from the Republic of Georgia has also played for Denver, Golden State, Minnesota and Phoenix over his four-year NBA career.© 2006 The Sports Network
