Lakers, Radmanovic reportedly agree to five-year contract
Jul 2, 2006, 23:43 GMT
Los Angeles, CA - The Los Angeles Lakers may have found a sweet-shooting big man to capitalize off double teams on Kobe Bryant, as the club reportedly agreed to a five-year contract with free agent forward Vladimir Radmanovic late Saturday.
The Los Angeles Daily News reports that the Lakers will sign the 6-foot-10 forward to a $30 million contract on July 12, the first day players can officially sign with teams.
Radmanovic averaged 9.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game for Seattle and the Clippers last season, while making 39 percent of his shots from beyond the arc. The long-distance game is Radmanovic's speciality, as the big man shot 42 percent from long distance during the 2001-02 campaign with the Sonics.
The forward demonstrated the outside touch against the Lakers in 2005, draining a career-high eight three-pointers and scoring 26 points last January at Staples Center.
