Test driver Wurz moves from McLaren-Mercedes to Williams

Stuttgart, Germany - Austrian media reported on Sunday that Austrian Grand Prix test driver Alexander Wurz has moved from McLaren-Mercedes to Williams.

31-year-old Wurz's contract with McLaren ended after five years and McLaren announced on Friday that they had signed British driver Gary Paffett as test driver for 2006.

Wurz will be Williams' test driver, while Mark Webber and Grand Prix rookie Nico Rosberg, who is the son of former world champion Keke Rosberg, will compete in the races.

The Austrian last year drove one race for the injured Juan Pablo Montoya and managed an excellent third place in Imola, but failed to find a seat as driver for 2006. dpa rd adh jn
