Boston, MA - Boston Red Sox first baseman Kevin Youkilis left Saturday's 10-1 Sox win over the Yankees at Fenway Park with a right wrist injury in the bottom of the fifth inning.
With one out in the inning, Yankees pitcher Chien-Ming Wang uncorked a high pitch, and Youkilis appeared to turn into it slightly. The ball struck him on the wrist, and Youkilis left the field in obvious pain.
Jacoby Ellsbury entered the game as a pinch-runner, and scored on J.D. Drew's single later in the frame.
In the top of the sixth, Ellsbury took over in left field, while Eric Hinske moved from left to first base.
Youkilis was later diagnosed with a right wrist contusion, and X-rays taken were negative. There is no current timetable on his return.
