Tampa Bay's Crawford to begin serving suspension
Sep 13, 2007, 23:44 GMT
Seattle, WA - Tampa Bay Devil Rays outfielder Carl Crawford will begin serving his two-game suspension on Thursday after appealing the original ruling handed down for his inappropriate actions in a game on September 3.
Crawford, who is hitting .311 with 78 RBI and 49 stolen bases this season, had his fine reduced due to the appeal, though the number of games remained the same
After being called out at first base against Baltimore, Crawford was livid, as replays clearly showed that he was safe on the play. Crawford then charged fir base umpire Paul Nauert, jumping up in the air and spiking his helmet between his legs before Nauert ejected him.
