O's manager, pitcher suspended
Sep 13, 2007, 22:39 GMT
Baltimore, MD - Baltimore Orioles pitcher Daniel Cabrera and manager Dave Trembley were both suspended by Major League Baseball Thursday for separate on-field actions within the past week and a half.
Cabrera was suspended six games and fined an undisclosed amount for throwing at Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia in a September 7 game in Baltimore, and for his actions during the subsequent bench-clearing incident.
Trembley was suspended three games for 'inappropriate actions' during Wednesday's 18-6 loss at home to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Trembley was ejected by second base umpire Paul Emmel after arguing a call at second base. It was his second ejection of the season.
Trembley will begin serving his suspension immediately, while Cabrera has filed an appeal with the league.
