Tigers' Jurrjens comes off DL
Sep 12, 2007, 4:47 GMT
Detroit, MI - The Detroit Tigers activated pitcher Jair Jurrjens from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.
Jurrjens allowed one run and three hits, walked one and fanned a batter over five innings in the start as Detroit beat Texas, 4-1, in the back end of a day/night doubleheader.
Jurrjens left his last start against the Yankees back on August 26 with shoulder inflammation.
'I'm a little sore, but I just wanted to get through five,' said Jurrjens after Tuesday's game. 'I kept getting stiff between innings because of the cold wind, but I tried to stay warm. I wasn't feeling any problems on the mound.'
Jurrjens is 2-1 with a 3.15 ERA for the Tigers this season.
