Phils win a wild one to wrap up four-game sweep of Mets

Philadelphia, PA - Chase Utley's one-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth gave the Philadelphia Phillies an 11-10 victory over the New York Mets and a four-game sweep at Citizens Bank Park.
Trailing 10-9, Jayson Werth led off the ninth with a single to left off Billy Wagner (2-2), who was in his second inning of work. Werth stole second and third with one out before scoring on pinch hitter Tadahito Iguchi's single to left. Iguchi then stole second and Jimmy Rollins was intentionally walked before Utley's game-winning single to right.
Pat Burrell belted two homers and Aaron Rowand and Ryan Howard added one each for the Phillies, who finished their 10-game homestand 6-4 and moved within two games of the first-place Mets in the NL East.
Philadelphia starter Kyle Lohse lasted only 3 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on five hits, while walking two and striking out two. Tom Gordon (2-2) got the win, pitching a scoreless ninth.
Endy Chavez and Shawn Green had two RBI apiece for the Mets, who will continue their 10-game road trip with a weekend set in Atlanta.
New York starter Orlando Hernandez went just three frames, surrendering five runs on six hits, with a walk and two strikeouts.
The Phils got to Hernandez in the first. Rollins led off with a double to right and with two outs, Howard belted a 2-1 pitch into Ashburn Alley in left center, his 36th homer of the season.
In the third, Utley singled to left with one-out before Burrell belted his first homer of the game, a line-drive to left. With two outs, Rowand homered into the seats in left, his 22nd of the year.
New York cut Philadelphia's lead to 5-3 in the fourth. David Wright led off with a double to right and with one out, Lohse hit Carlos Delgado with a pitch, putting runners on first and second for Green, who doubled to left, scoring Wright. Ruben Gotay then grounded out to first, allowing Delgado to cross the plate.
Mike DiFelice then walked and pinch-hitter Lastings Milledge singled to left, plating Green. Geoff Geary entered in relief of Lohse and got Jose Reyes to ground out to first, ending the inning.
The Mets tied the game at 5-5 in the top of the fifth. Chavez doubled to left to lead off the frame and moved to third when Wright followed with a single to right. Carlos Beltran then scored Chavez with a soft dribbler down the first base line. With one-out, Green hit a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Wright.
The Phils recaptured the lead in the home half of the fifth with three two-out base hits off Aaron Sele. Howard led off with a single to center and with two outs, Werth walked. Carlos Ruiz then hit a bloop single just over the head of Gotay and into right, scoring a run and pinch-hitter Shane Victorino followed with a bloop single of his own to shallow center plating another run. Rollins capped the rally with a single to center, allowing Ruiz to score easily and give the Phillies an 8-5 lead.
The Mets went ahead in the eighth. With one out, J.C. Romero walked Gotay before Antonio Alfonseca entered in relief and walked Moises Alou. Pinch- hitter Marlon Anderson then doubled to right, scoring Gotay and Alfonseca intentionally walked Reyes, loading the bases for Chavez. Chavez singled to center scoring two runs and tying the game at 8-8.
New York then went ahead when on a double steal, Ruiz's throw got by third baseman Abraham Nunez allowing Reyes to scamper home for a 9-8 lead. After Alfonseca walked Wright, Jose Mesa entered in relief and walked Beltran, loading the bases for Delgado who put the Mets up 10-8 with a groundout to short.
Burrell's one-out solo homer to left in the eighth off Wagner, his 24th of the campaign, pulled the Phils within 10-9.
Game Notes
Philadelphia took all three games of a series at Shea from June 5-7...The last time the Phils swept a four-game set was against the Mets on September 4-7, 2003 in Philadelphia...Although he struggled, Lohse has yet to lose in six starts (1-0) since joining Philadelphia from Cincinnati at the trade deadline...Despite a shaky outing, Hernandez is 5-0 in over his last 10 outings and hasn't lost since July 4th at Colorado...Burrell has 41 career homers against the Mets, most among all active players and 102 RBI, second among active players...Attendance was 42,552.
