Anaheim, CA - The Texas Rangers activated first baseman Mark Teixeira from the 15-day disabled list on Friday prior to their game against the Angels.
Teixeira suffered a strained left quadriceps running out a ground ball June 8 against Milwaukee. He had played in 507 consecutive games prior to the injury, and was batting .302 with 12 home runs and 41 RBI in 61 games this season.
In a corresponding move, Texas optioned outfielder Victor Diaz to Triple-A Oklahoma. Diaz batted .240 with nine homers and 25 RBI in 37 games for the Rangers since being recalled on May 1.
