Injured A-Rod takes a seat
Jul 5, 2007, 15:55 GMT
Bronx, NY - Alex Rodriguez was not in the New York Yankees' lineup for the team's 7-6 win against the Minnesota Twins on Thursday.
The All-Star third baseman is struggling with a strained left hamstring and left Yankee Stadium to undergo an MRI. After the contest, Yankees manager Joe Torre said the MRI was negative and listed Rodriguez as day-to-day.
Rodriguez was originally hurt on Monday trying to beat out a throw at first base. Since tweaking the hamstring, he is 0-for-8 at the plate.
The 31-year-old star is hitting a robust .314 this season and leads the major leagues with 28 home runs and 80 RBI.
