A-Rod still on top of AL All-Star voting

New York, NY - New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez continues to lead all players in voting for the upcoming All-Star Game.
Rodriguez, who has never finished as the overall balloting leader, has garnered 1,914,162 votes. The next closest is Rodriguez's teammate, shortstop Derek Jeter, with 1,591,453 votes.
At first base Boston's David Ortiz leads all players at the position with 1,423,064 votes. Minnesota's Justin Morneau, the reigning league MVP, is second at the position with 736,786 tallies.
Detroit's Placido Polanco holds the lead at second base, while his teammate Ivan Rodriguez holds the top spot for catchers.
The top three outfielders are the Angels' Vladimir Guerrero (1,541,241), Boston's Manny Ramirez (1,098,497) and Seattle's Ichiro Suzuki (1,048,781). Detroit's Magglio Ordonez is fourth with 970,300 votes.
In-stadium balloting concludes June 22nd, while fans can vote online until June 28th at 11:59 p.m. (et).
The 78th All-Star Game will be played Tuesday, July 10th at AT&T Park in San Francisco.
