A-Rod still leads AL All-Star voting

New York, NY - New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez continues to lead all players in voting for the upcoming All-Star Game.
Rodriguez has garnered 1,404,001 votes. The next closest third baseman is Boston's Mike Lowell with only 528,895 votes.
Rodriguez's teammate shortstop Derek Jeter is next closest vote-getter overall, receiving 1,161,162 votes to top all players at his position. Detroit's Carlos Guillen is the next shortstop with 409,813 votes.
At first base Boston's David Ortiz leads all players at the position with 1,055,260 votes. Minnesota's Justin Morneau, the reigning league MVP, is second at the position with 519,432 tallies.
Detroit's Placido Polanco has taken over the top spot at second base, garnering 572,238 votes, compared to 520,506 votes for New York's Robinson Cano.
Polanco's teammate Ivan Rodriguez leads all catchers with 679,403 votes. New York's Jorge Posada is next with 567,153 tallies.
The top three outfielders are the Angels' Vladimir Guerrero (1,118,951), Boston's Manny Ramirez (823,269) and Seattle's Ichiro Suzuki (757,275). Detroit's Magglio Ordonez is fourth with 644,183 votes.
The 78th All-Star Game will be played Tuesday, July 10th at AT&T Park in San Francisco.
