Jun 5, 2007, 19:40 GMT
New York, NY - New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez remains the top vote-getter in the American League balloting for the 2007 All- Star Game.
Rodriguez is the first to eclipse the one-million vote mark with 1,058,907. Teammate Derek Jeter is second in the overall voting with 848,932, and is followed by Angels outfielder Vladimir Guerrero and Boston first baseman David Ortiz.
Three-fourths of the infield is currently comprised of Yankees, as Robinson Cano has a slight edge over Detroit's Placido Polanco at second base.
Ortiz is comfortably ahead of Minnesota's Justin Morneau at first base, while Ivan Rodriguez currently leads a closely-contested race at catcher.
Rodriguez, who is tied for most All-Star appearances among active players with 13, has 469,696 votes, with Minnesota's Joe Mauer (438,365), Boston's Jason Varitek (413,153) and New York's Jorge Posada (392,908) right behind him.
The starting outfield, if the voting ended today, would be Guerrero, Boston's Manny Ramirez and Seattle's Ichiro Suzuki.
The teams will be unveiled on July 1 for the 78th All-Star game, which is scheduled for July 10 at San Francisco's At&T Park.
