Pittsburgh, PA - Seton Hall announced that sophomore forward Robert Mitchell has transferred to the university.

Mitchell, who was granted his released from Duquesne in August, will be eligible to practice with Seton Hall this season and play for the Pirates in 2008-09.

The 6-foot-6, 180-pound Mitchell averaged a team-high 16.4 points per game last year en route to Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year honors. Mitchell, whose scoring average ranked ninth among the nation's Division I freshmen, was just the second Duke to capture the Rookie of the Year award since Bruce Atkins accomplished the feat in 1978-79.

'Robert is a terrific get for us,' said Seton Hall head coach Bobby Gonzalez. 'He was the Atlantic-10 Rookie of the Year last year, he can shoot, rebound and is very versatile. He'll only get better and stronger, and in sitting out this year, he'll have plenty of time to learn our system.'
