From Monsters and Critics.com Men's College Basketball Tuscaloosa, AL - Senior point guard Ronald Steele will have arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Thursday as a follow-up to a procedure he had in April. Steele is expected to be at full strength for the upcoming season. The All-SEC selection averaged 8.5 points and 4.0 assists in 26 games last season. 'Number one, my first concern is Ron Steele and my hope is that he will be 100 percent at some point in the near future,' said Alabama head basketball coach Mark Gottfried. 'It's disappointing yet at the same time encouraging that hopefully this will give him a conclusion to this process.' Doctor Lyle Cain and Doctor James Andrews will perform the surgery at St. Vincent's Birmingham. © 2007 The Sports Network
