From Monsters and Critics.com Men's College Basketball Youngstown, OH - Jerry Slocum, one of 12 active NCAA coaches with at least 600 wins, was signed to a five-year contract at Youngstown State on Tuesday, keeping him at the school through the 2011-12 season. Slocum finished his second season by guiding the Penguins to a seven-win improvement from his first campaign. The 14 wins (14-17) during the 2006-07 season were the fourth most by the program since 1984-85 and were the most since 2000-01. Slocum has a career record of 601-363 through 32 seasons as a collegiate head coach, including 21 with Youngstown State. © 2007 The Sports Network
