Tallahassee, FL - Florida A&M men's basketball coach Mike Gillespie Sr. has been placed on paid administrative leave by the school following his arrest last week.
According to the Tallahassee Democrat, Gillespie was arrested last Friday on a misdemeanor stalking charge. The paper said he was released on $1,000 bail later that evening provided that he wears a tracking device and avoids the woman who filed a complaint.
'Coach Gillespie has been placed on paid administrative leave until such time that the pending criminal charges have been resolved,' said FAMU athletic director Nelson Townsend in a release Wednesday morning.
Gillespie just completed his sixth season with the school and guided the Rattlers to a record of 21-14 with a MEAC championship last season. FAMU played the opening round game of the NCAA Tournament and dropped a 77-69 decision to Niagara.
