Carter named South Carolina State hoops coach

Orangeburg, SC - South Carolina State named Tim Carter as its new men's basketball coach on Friday.
Carter was an assistant at Florida State for the past year and takes over the Bulldogs squad that was guided by Jamal Brown last season. The Bulldogs posted a 13-17 record last season.
Carter will be serving his third stint as a head coach. He previously guided the University of Texas-San Antonio (1995-2006) and the University of Nebraska-Omaha (1994-95). He has a record of 171-168 and two appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
