Clark takes over at Texas A&M-CC

May 1, 2007, 23:30 GMT

Corpus Christi, TX - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi named Perry Clark its new head men's basketball coach on Tuesday.

Clark has over 28 years of collegiate coaching experience, going 250-199 as a head coach. He most recently was the head coach at Miami-Florida, posting a record of 65-54 from 2000-04. Prior to that he led Tulane with a 185-145 mark over 11 seasons.

'Perry Clark is a proven winner, on and off the basketball floor and we are fortunate at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to have a man of his knowledge, experience and integrity leading our basketball program,' said Texas A&M- Corpus Christi director of athletics Brian Teter.

Clark takes over for Ronnie Arrow, who left the program April 18 for the same position at South Alabama.

Arrow started the program in 1997 from scratch and during that time has guided the Islanders to an overall record of 134-91. Last season, Arrow guided the Islanders to a 26-7 record as well as the Southland Conference regular season title before going on to win the SLC Tournament in the school's first year in the league.
