Trojans' Pruitt declares for draft

Los Angeles, CA - Southern California junior guard Gabe Pruitt declared himself eligible for the NBA Draft on Friday, but announced he has not hired an agent, keeping his option open to return to school for his senior season.Pruitt, who has until June 18 to withdraw from the draft and return to school for his senior season, averaged 12.5 points per game last year. He also led the team in assists with 113 and steals with 47.'I want to go through the process to see where I stand with the NBA people,' said Pruitt. 'I am leaving all of my options open, but I want to test the waters. It is a tough decision for me because I love being part of the Trojan family. My ultimate goal is to play in the NBA and I look at this experience as another step in that direction.'The 2007 NBA Draft will be held on June 28 at Madison Square Garden in New York.© 2007 The Sports Network
