Georgia Tech's Crittenton declares for draft
Apr 26, 2007, 2:00 GMT
Atlanta, GA - Georgia Tech freshman guard Javaris Crittenton announced Wednesday he has entered his name in the NBA Draft, but would not hire an agent, keeping the door open for him to return for his sophomore season.
Crittenton averaged 14.4 points per game last season and ranked second in the ACC with 5.7 assists per contest.
'I enjoy Georgia Tech, the environment here and all the fans, and I appreciate all the support I've gotten though high school and my freshman year, both from the Tech community and the people in Atlanta,' Crittenton said. 'But I feel I need to enter my name right now in order to get the best possible information from people in the NBA.'
Underclassmen have until Sunday, April 29 to declare for the draft, but can withdraw their names up until Monday, June 18.
The 2007 NBA Draft will be held on June 28 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
